Unloading salvaged flotation foam, with which we will fill each pontoon. This is what makes it a raft, not a boat.

June wields the small sledge hammer, driving in nails on the bottom of the first pontoon.

April 12. Ed, Aurelia, Poppa, and June next to the first completed pontoon, just before launching it.

Poppa surveys the work: the two pontoons have been joined, creating the first, 16' section of the raft.

April 14th, we do our first test run on the river. A 4HP outboard does the job, upstream and down.

April 18. The first cabin goes on, and Ed moves onboard. see log entry for this date

Repeating the process, now with the third pontoon.

The third pontoon has been launched and brought alongside; a second cabin has also been built.

Getting ready to get underway at last; there are four cabins now - one for Thor and storage space, and one for a galley.
